Surveying Education in Jamaica, Entry Requirements.

University of Technology, Jamaica offers two Courses of Study.

1) Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Surveying and Geographic Information Sciences.

In accordance with general University entry requirements, students entering the programme must have a minimum of: -

1.            Five (5) subjects including:

English Language, Mathematics, and three (3) others from among the following approved list:

Physics, Geography, Additional Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Elementary Surveying, and Information Technology.

(Physics is strongly recommended)

at

-          CSEC General Proficiency level at minimum Grade II (Grade III since June 1998 and later acceptable) or

-          GCE O’levels at minimum grade C

AND EITHER

Two (2) GCE Advanced Level/Four (4) Units of CAPE subjects from among:

Physics

Pure Mathematics                ]           or a combined Pure and

Applied mathematics           ]           Applied Maths

Geography

at

CAPE a minimum Grade IV, or GCE A’ level at a minimum Grade D.

1) Associate Degree in Land Surveying and Geographic Information Technology.

In accordance with general University entry requirements, students entering the programme must have a minimum of: -

1.            Four (4) subjects including:

English Language, Mathematics, and three (2) others from among the following approved list:

Physics, Geography, Additional Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Elementary Surveying, and Information Technology.
